Is a copy less valuable than an original? Does a plastic statue from Lourdes representing Maria offer less comfort than
an original Medieval statue manually carved in wood?

Questions about originality, replications, resulting values, and the potential and limits of new technology steer my work
in this on going project.



The original medieval statue, from the collection of the Bonnefanten Museum in Maastricht, the Netherlands can be
copied and re-manufactured limitless through digital techniques.
I will further research where value ends during 3D replication and where originality remains.
What is the emotional impact of history, of my own interference or my living together with the statue?
